Patrick J. Adams recently used social media to issue an apology for sharing throwback photos from the TV series Suits amidst the ongoing actors’ strike.

Earlier this week, the actor, best known for his role as Mike Ross, was reminiscing about his time on the legal drama by posting photos featuring several of his former co-stars, including Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, and others. Subsequently, Adams removed these posts and used his Instagram Stories to express his regret, stating, “Over the past couple of days, I made the unwise mistake of indulging in Suits nostalgia, which diverted my focus from the crucial ongoing battle that everyone at @sagaftra is tirelessly fighting for – fair compensation and protections suitable for the 21st century.”
SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ union, has been on strike since July 14 due to stalled contract negotiations with studios and streaming platforms. During the strike, union members are prohibited from promoting any projects covered by SAG-AFTRA contracts.
Adams added, “I deeply regret this oversight and extend my sincere apologies to those who promptly and kindly reminded me of our ongoing struggle. I am committed to supporting this cause in the days and weeks to come.”
The deleted posts featured behind-the-scenes snapshots with Markle and Rafferty, accompanied by the caption, “I miss my friends.” Another post included a carousel of images featuring Markle, Macht, Hoffman, Max Topplin, and Gina Torres, with the caption, “Each and every one of them.” A few days later, Adams shared two more Instagram carousels containing additional show-related photos. Recently, Suits regained popularity after being added to Netflix. The series follows the story of Mike Ross (played by Adams), a brilliant college dropout who partners with Harvey Specter (Macht), one of New York City’s top lawyers. Along the way, Mike develops a romantic connection with the law firm’s best paralegal, Rachel Zane (Markle).
