A tragic incident unfolded when a charter bus, transporting members of a high school marching band to a summer camp, met with a devastating accident off Interstate 84 in the northwest vicinity of New York City. This unfortunate event resulted in the loss of two adults’ lives and left several students with injuries, according to the authorities.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul provided an update on the situation, revealing that at least five individuals are currently in critical condition. Addressing concerned citizens during a Thursday evening press briefing, officials shared details of the incident. The ill-fated bus was transporting 44 individuals when one of its front tires malfunctioned. Subsequently, the bus veered off the highway, plummeting down a steep 50-foot embankment before coming to a rest on its side amidst a tangle of bushes and trees, as described by the governor.
