A couple on a romantic getaway in Colorado claims to have captured footage of the elusive Bigfoot, a mythological creature, in a startling daytime encounter. Shannon and Stetson Parker, celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, said they spotted the legendary figure during a scenic train ride between Durango and Silverton, deep in the southwest of the Centennial State.

“While we were surveying the mountains for elk, my husband spotted something in motion that left him at a loss for words,” shared Shannon, a 44-year-old contractor from Cheyenne, Wyoming. “He suddenly exclaimed, ‘Bigfoot!'” The figure stood at a height of six or seven feet, seamlessly blending with the mountain’s sagebrush and appearing almost concealed while crouching down. If you had asked us before our trip, we might have considered the possibility of Bigfoot, but now we’re convinced.

Shannon shared a video lasting one to two minutes of the sighting on Facebook and also relayed an anecdote from the train’s conductor, who had experienced a similar unexplained encounter.

The conductor revealed, “I’ve gone snowshoeing in those mountains before and have come across footprints much larger and with a longer stride than what snowshoes could create.”

He, too, has witnessed inexplicable phenomena.” While some Facebook commenters expressed belief and enthusiasm, not everyone was quick to accept the existence of Bigfoot, likening it to Chewbacca or questioning what the couple had been drinking. Parker acknowledged that some skeptics suggested it might have been a person, perhaps a hunter in natural camouflage, or a local prank targeting unsuspecting tourists.
“It didn’t resemble a hunter because a hunter would typically carry a bow during bow season. It didn’t appear to be carrying anything.” This year has witnessed several claimed Bigfoot sightings, including one in the Mississippi woods during the summer. Reports of Bigfoot sightings have been ongoing since the 1800s, mainly in the Pacific Northwest.
The description given by the Washington National Guard is in agreement with the Parkers’ testimony: “People who report sightings of Bigfoot have described a range of descriptions, from a massive, upright ape to anactual hairy human, sometimes standing over eight feet tall and described as powerfully built.
The discussion and ongoing research remain, as indicated by the statement from the military branch in their post regarding the legend. The University of Arizona speculates that the folklore could have originated from an extinct giant ape known as Gigantopithecus, which coexisted with early humans. It’s also worth noting that the sighting might have been an encounter with Saxsquatch, a musician famous for performing smooth jazz while dressed as Bigfoot.
