In a recent interview, Cher strongly denies the allegations that arose last month, accusing her of orchestrating the abduction of her adult son during his wedding anniversary with his estranged wife. The famous singer firmly states, “That rumor is not true.” These shocking allegations emerged from divorce documents related to Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, and his wife, Marie Angela King.

These documents became public as part of the ongoing divorce case initiated by Allman, filed in November 2021, a year before the alleged abduction. King’s claim revolves around their troubled marriage, alleging that the abduction took place during a 12-day period leading up to their anniversary on November 30. In her 2022 filing, she expressed deep concern for her husband’s well-being and whereabouts, stating that she had been informed by one of the four men involved that they were hired by petitioner’s mother (Cher).
She also mentioned that she was denied access to Allman, who was allegedly in lockdown at an undisclosed treatment facility with no access to a phone. Cher clarified that this family matter is deeply connected to her son’s history of battling drug addiction.
She further emphasized, “I’m not experiencing any challenges that millions of people across the United States aren’t facing. As a mother, it’s my responsibility, in one way or another, to support my children. When it comes to your children, you’ll go to great lengths to help them; that’s the essence of being a mother. Despite the difficulties, it’s a source of joy. Most of the time, when you think of your children, it brings a smile to your face, and you cherish them, always striving to be there for them.”
Allman has previously been open about his struggles with addiction, revealing that he was introduced to heavy drugs at a very young age. He has faced multiple stints in recovery since the early 2010s, and his relationship with sobriety has been in flux, impacting his relationship with his mother, Cher.
The famous singer has also candidly discussed her family’s history of drug abuse, rooted in her father’s heroin use. Elijah Blue Allman’s father, Gregg Allman, similarly battled addiction. Cher’s strong denial and her dedication to supporting her son in his battle with addiction are central to this family’s ongoing story.
