Taylor Swift has achieved another remarkable milestone with her latest album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” a reimagining of her 1989 album. Within just one week of its release, it has become the top-selling album in the United States for 2023. This new album has claimed the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the vinyl albums and streaming albums charts, amassing over 1.6 million units in the U.S. and more than 3.5 million units worldwide. Notably, this achievement sets Taylor Swift apart as the first artist in history to secure six No. 1 album debuts, each with over 1 million units sold.

Adding to her accolades, Taylor Swift recently earned the title of having the most-streamed Spotify album in a single day, a record she previously held with her 2022 album “Midnights,” featuring new hits like “Anti-Hero,” “Karma,” and “Bejeweled.”
“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is Taylor Swift’s fourth re-release of her earlier albums, prompted by Scooter Braun’s acquisition of Big Machine Records and control over her masters. This reimagined version of “1989” includes all the original tracks, along with five new vault tracks: “Is It Over Now?,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Suburban Legends,” and “S***!” The original “1989” album, released in 2014, featured chart-topping hits such as “Shake It Off,” “Bad Blood,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Blank Space,” and “Style.”
Swift announced “1989” as the next Taylor’s Version during the closing night of The Eras Tour in Los Angeles in August. The only two remaining albums from her catalog yet to receive re-recorded versions are “Taylor Swift” (2006) and “Reputation” (2017).
